Résumé :

The objective of the present workshop is twofold. Firstly, to discuss the relevance and practicability of the pioneering approaches and research questions subsumed under "New Political History" for the study of the history of European integration. When it comes to reframing and rethinking national institutions and political conventions, the EU is the ideal object of research. Secondly, the workshop is a first initiative to bring together historians in the Netherlands and Flanders dealing with European integration and related topics in their Ph.D. theses and other research endeavours. Providing a platform for historical EU studies next to the much larger community of political scientists in the field.
