Détails :

Mission
Civitas-FARCD (Forum of Archives and Research on Christian Democracy) is an iniative which has been launched by Istituto Luigi Sturzo (Rome), KADOC-KU Leuven, Documentation and Research Centre for Religion, Culture and Society (Leuven) and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung e. V. (Sankt Augustin). As a research platform for institutes/institutions and archives and for individual archivists and researchers, it focuses on the field of research on and records/collections/sources of Christian Democracy at the national, European and international levels. See http://www.Civitas-Farcd.eu.

CIVITAS focuses on the study and archives of Christian Democracy in the 20th century, in particular its second half, including the organizational and ideological precedents (second half of the 19th century – prewar period) of Christian Democracy as well as its actual development.

CIVITAS promotes research on issues in the history of Christian Democracy. It encourages all initiatives (research projects, conferences, workshops, fellowships) in this area and brings together interested researchers and/or their institutes in common projects.

Doctoral Seminars
One of these initiatives is the organization of doctoral seminars. Junior researchers get the opportunity to present their current research to an international public consisting of other junior researchers and to enter into dialogue with the members of the Scientific Committee of Civitas , with the intention of exchanging insights and experiences regarding both methodology and content.

The doctoral seminars are organized once a year together with Civitas’ annual workshop. The doctoral seminar of this year is scheduled in the morning of 26th October 2017. All themes concerning the current research on Christian Democracy in the 20th century, in particular its second half, including the organizational and ideological precedents (second half of the 19th century – prewar period) of Christian Democracy as well as its actual development are welcome to present in ten minutes.

Participants in the doctoral seminar are also welcome to attend the workshop. They will also be kept informed of the activities of Civitas (mailing list, newsletter and announcements). Civitas will contribute to the travel and accommodation expenses of selected junior researchers (of between € 500 to a maximum of € 750 per participant).
