Carine Germond is Associate Professor in European Studies at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Prior to joining NTNU she was Assistant Professor in Contemporary and International European History at the University of Maastricht. She was also the first recipient of the Clifford Hackett Lecturership in the History of European Integration at Yale University. She holds a Doctorate in Contemporary History from the University of Strasbourg.

Her recent research focuses on various transnational actors, from farmers' unions to Agricultural experts working in International Organizations, that are involved in agricultural policy(-making) in Europe. She has also published extensively on Franco-German relations in Europe.

She received a large number of fellowships and grants from a wide range of prestigious insittutions across Europe, including most recently a 5-month fellowship at the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study (2015), a Marie Curie Fellowship at the University of Portsmouth (2012-2014) and a Jean Monnet Fellowship at the European University Institute (2011-2012).
